World-renowned Port Townsend loft building handmade bluewater cruising sails since 1978.
Port Townsend Sails (the former Hasse & Company) has built custom offshore-cruising sails for traditional and modern rigs since Carol Hasse founded the loft in 1978, earning a global reputation for durability and craftsmanship. The loft designs and builds new sails and handles repairs, alterations, and consulting, and shares its knowledge through seminars and educational resources. Founder Carol Hasse retired in 2021 and the Port Townsend Shipwrights Co-op purchased the business, keeping most of the sailmaking staff and continuing to trade under the Port Townsend Sails name at Point Hudson.

Cruising info goes stale fast — fees change, fuel docks close, hours shift. WalkTheDock stays accurate because boaters who’ve actually been here keep it current. Spot something out of date? Suggest a correction; once a moderator approves it the change goes live and you’re credited below.
