The last shipyard standing on BC's North Coast — Seal Cove haul-outs, painting, and surveys for fishing boats, yachts, and service vessels since 1909.
McLean's West Coast Launch Shipyard is a full-service haul-out and marine repair yard at Seal Cove in Prince Rupert, the only shipyard on British Columbia's North Coast. Founded in 1909 and run for four generations by the McLean family (ownership passed to the Davis family / West Coast Launch in 2020), it lifts and launches vessels from 0 to 85 feet and offers a tidal grid for vessels up to 120' x 40'. Services include haul-outs for surveys and Transport Canada / CSI inspections, boat painting and cleaning, yard and on-site storage, and on-site welding, mechanic, and marine-technician labour, plus equipment rental. It serves fishing, yacht, and service vessels — including US and international boats — and assists with CBSA clearance.
