The Port McNeill Harbour Authority operates the town's public municipal and federal small-craft floats on the north end of Vancouver Island, a practical year-round stop for cruisers crossing Queen Charlotte Strait into the Broughtons. Guest moorage is offered with 20-, 30-, 50- and 100-amp power, water and Wi-Fi; the office monitors VHF 66A and reservations are recommended in summer. The harbour floats do not sell fuel directly — fuel (gas, diesel and propane) is available nearby at North Island Marina, the former Port McNeill fuel dock.
