The Port Hardy Harbour Authority manages the Fisherman's Wharf basin in Hardy Bay near the north end of Vancouver Island — the last major harbour before crossing Queen Charlotte Sound. It is primarily a commercial fishing harbour, with roughly 120 slips and 1,000 feet of moorage, water, 20/30/50-amp power, a pump-out and a launch ramp, but no showers or laundry; room for pleasure craft is limited and best in summer when the fleet is out. The harbour does not have its own fuel dock — fuel is available across the bay at Bear Cove (Coastal Mountain Fuels) and at Quarterdeck Marina. Reach the harbour office at 250-949-6332 and call ahead on VHF 66A for moorage.
