This project modernized the navigation and electronics suite aboard Fortitude by transitioning from legacy, standalone marine displays to a PC-based navigation architecture. The refit centers on TimeZero as the primary navigation platform, integrated with Furuno sensors and radar for high-performance charting, route planning, and situational awareness.
By consolidating navigation, radar overlay, AIS, and weather data onto a robust PC system, the upgrade improves reliability, flexibility, and ease of future expansion. The result is a cleaner helm, faster system performance, and a navigation setup better suited for long-range cruising and redundancy while maintaining Furuno’s proven sensor accuracy and offshore reliability.
